Bank ABC, FABMISR, AAIB and «HSBC» top fastest-growing private sector banks in net interest income in last 3 years

First Bank’s list of the fastest growing private sector banks in net interest income in the last 3 years revealed that the Arab Banking Corporation Bank topped – Egypt «ABC», with an average growth of 174.1%, as its net income from returns reached 4.49 billion pounds in 2024, compared to 3.52 billion pounds in 2023, and 613.78 million pounds in 2022.

The «First Bank» list monitored the net income from returns of 21 private banks operating in the Egyptian banking system for which financial data were available for the last 3 years, specifically for the years 2024, 2023 and 2022, and showed that they all achieved positive growth rates.It is worth noting that the banks «ABC» and «FABMISR» completed Acquisitions during this period affected the average growth rates of the two banks.

Returning to the list, First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt «FABMISR» snatched second place with an average growth of 118.3% in the last 3 years, thanks to an increase in its net interest income to 31.99 billion pounds in 2024, compared to 15.97 billion pounds in 2023, and 5.68 billion pounds in 2022.

Arab African International Bank dominated third place with an average growth of 78.3% in the last 3 years, as its net interest income rose to 29.54 billion pounds in 2024, compared to 15.65 billion pounds in 2023 and 10.23 billion pounds in 2022.

HSBC Bank – Egypt HSBC won fourth place with an average growth of 75.5% in the last 3 years, after its net interest income rose to 31.66 billion pounds in 2024, compared to 20.15 billion pounds in 2023, and 8.65 billion pounds in 2022.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt «ADCB» came fifth, after the average growth of its net inter income reached 70.7% during the last three years, rising to 8.65 billion pounds during 2024, compared to 4.58 billion pounds during 2023, and 2.89 billion pounds during 2022.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt «ADIB» came in sixth place, with an average growth of 65.6% in the last 3 years, as its net interest income jumped to 14.98 billion pounds in 2024, compared to 8.79 billion pounds in 2023, and 4.73 billion pounds in 2022.

The National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt came seventh, with an average growth of 62.2% over the last 3 years, thanks to the increase in its net interest income to 11.6 billion pounds during 2024, compared to 6.99 billion pounds during 2023, and 3.83 billion pounds during 2022.

Credit Agricole Bank – Egypt ranked eighth, with an average growth of 58.1% in the last 3 years, as its net interest income jumped to 11.04 billion pounds in 2024, compared to 7.43 billion pounds in 2023, and 3.8 billion pounds in 2022.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt «CIB» took ninth place, with an average growth of 55.7% over the last 3 years, after its net interest income increased to 90.82 billion pounds during 2024, compared to 52.75 billion pounds during 2023, and 30.84 billion pounds during 2022.

As for tenth place, it went to Suez Canal Bank with an average growth of 55.5% in the last 3 years, thanks to the increase in its net interest income to 5.54 billion pounds in 2024, compared to 3.24 billion pounds in 2023, and 1.89 billion pounds in 2022.

It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are in accordance with the independent financial statements announced for each bank.
