FABMISR, EBank and AAIB top best banks in asset coverage ratio for deposits by March 2025-End

First Bank list of the best banks in the asset coverage rate for deposits at the end of March 2025 revealed that First Abu Dhabi Bank - Egypt «FABMISR» topped the list with a coverage rate of 159.91%, after the bank's total assets recorded about 461.91 billion pounds, while total deposits reached 288.87 billion pounds at the end of March 2025.

The Asset Coverage of Deposits Index expresses the ability of banks to cover their customers' deposits using their asset portfolios, and is classified according to the (assets/deposits) rate×100. The higher the value of this rate, the more this indicates a high level of security that the bank provides to its depositors of various segments.

The list included 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was made available during the period under analysis. The list revealed that all banks under analysis enjoyed strong rates of coverage of their customers' deposits.

Returning to the list, the Export Development Bank of Egypt «EBank» took second place with a coverage rate of 140.74%, as the total asset portfolio recorded 184.23 billion pounds, while the total deposit portfolio reached 130.9 billion pounds at the end of March 2025.

The Arab African International Bank ranked third, with an asset coverage rate for deposits of 139.11% at the end of March 2025, after the bank's total assets amounted to about 894.13 billion pounds, while its customers' total deposit portfolio recorded about 642.77 billion pounds at the end of March 2025.

HSBC Bank – Egypt «HSBC» came in fourth, after its asset coverage rate for deposits reached 137.83%, as the total asset portfolio recorded EGP 302.22 billion, while the total deposit portfolio reached EGP 219.28 billion by the end of March 2025.

Banque du Caire came in fifth place, as its asset coverage rate for deposits recorded 135.64%, after the bank's total asset portfolio reached 500.82 billion pounds, while its total deposit portfolio recorded 369.23 billion pounds at the end of March 2025.

Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt clinched sixth place with a coverage rate of 134.33%, as the total asset portfolio recorded 245.14 billion pounds, while the total deposit portfolio reached 182.49 billion pounds at the end of March 2025.

Suez Canal Bank ranked seventh, recording an asset coverage rate for its deposits of 134.29%, after its total asset portfolio reached 203.20 billion pounds, and the size of its customer deposit portfolio reached 151.32 billion pounds at the end of March 2025.

Credit Agricole Bank – Egypt ranked eighth, after recording an asset coverage rate for its deposits of 133.78%, as the bank's total asset portfolio reached 126.93 billion pounds, while its total deposit portfolio reached 94.88 billion pounds by the end of March 2025.

Housing and Development Bank dominated ninth place with an asset coverage rate of 130.95%, as the total asset portfolio recorded EGP 176.81 billion, while the total deposit portfolio reached EGP 135.02 billion by the end of March 2025.

As for tenth place, it went to United Bank, after its asset coverage rate for deposits reached 130.06%, as the total asset portfolio recorded 87.18 billion pounds, while the total deposit portfolio reached 67.03 billion pounds at the end of March 2025.
