ABK-Egypt's Corporate sector records a strong performance during Q1-2025

Corporate sector at the National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt achieved a distinguished performance during the first quarter of 2025. This comes as a result of the increase in the bank's institutional loan portfolio by 6.9%, with an increase of 3.19 billion pounds, reaching 49.38 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 46.19 billion at the end of 2024.
This came as a result of the increase in direct loans to companies at the bank at a growth rate of 3.4% during the first 3 months of this year, with an increase value of EGP 1.18 billion, after the portfolio size recorded EGP 35.60 billion at the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 34.42 billion at the end of 2024, thus accounting for 72.1% of the total institutional loan portfolio at the end of last March.
The bank's syndicated loan portfolio jumped by 74.8% during the first quarter of 2025, recording EGP 5.85 billion at the end of last March, compared to EGP 3.35 billion at the end of 2024, achieving an increase of EGP 2.5 billion. Current accounts receivable balances recorded EGP 7.42 billion at the end of March 2025
It is worth noting that the institutional loan portfolio accounted for 65.9% of the bank's total customer loans at the end of last March, which rose at a growth rate of 8.5% and an increase of EGP 5.88 billion during the first quarter of this year, recording EGP 74.98 billion at the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 69.09 billion at the end of 2024.
Institutional deposits increased by 9.5% during the first quarter of 2025 and recorded 94.14 billion pounds
In terms of the size of the institutional deposit portfolio at the National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt, it witnessed a growth rate of 9.5% during the first quarter of this year, achieving an increase of 8.19 billion pounds, reaching 94.14 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 85.95 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
The institutional deposit portfolio accounted for 70.2% of the bank's total customer deposit portfolio, which amounted to approximately EGP 134.12 billion at the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 119.89 billion at the end of 2024, increasing by 11.9% and achieving an increase of EGP 14.24 billion during the first quarter of this year.
