QNB Egypt, FABMISR and CIB top best banks on First Bank Depositor Confidence Index during Q1-2025

First Bank index of depositor confidence for banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that «QNB» Bank Egypt topped the list, as its total customer deposits jumped by 47.34 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, to record 729.21 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 681.86 billion pounds at the end of 2024.

The «First Bank» Depositor Confidence Index monitored the value of the increase in deposit portfolios in 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data were available during the analysis period, and the index showed that 20 banks under analysis achieved noticeable increases in the volume of their deposits, while 5 banks witnessed a noticeable decline during the first quarter of 2025.

The «First Bank» Depositor Confidence Index is an index launched to measure savers' trends and confidence in linking deposits and certificates to Egyptian banks during a specific period, relying in measuring it on the value of the increase in the balance of deposit portfolios in banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, so that the largest bank that received new deposits during the first quarter of 2025 becomes the first bank on the index.

Returning to the list, First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt «FABMISR» snatched second place, as its customer deposit portfolio rose by about EGP 30.08 billion during the first quarter of 2025, reaching EGP 288.87 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 258.79 billion by the end of 2024.

The Commercial International Bank «CIB» won third place, after it succeeded in increasing its deposit portfolio by 28.22 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 996.12 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 967.90 billion pounds by the end of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» came in fourth place, as its portfolio of customer deposits increased by EGP 17.87 billion during the first quarter of 2025, reaching EGP 218.15 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 200.28 billion by the end of 2024.

Banque du Caire ranked fifth, after its portfolio of customer deposits increased by EGP 16.95 billion during the first quarter of 2025, reaching EGP 369.23 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 352.27 billion by the end of 2024.

The Suez Canal Bank came in sixth place, after it succeeded in increasing its deposit portfolio by 15.84 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, to record 151.32 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 135.47 billion pounds by the end of 2024. 

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait - Egypt dominated seventh place, after its portfolio of customer deposits jumped by EGP 14.24 billion during the first quarter of 2025, reaching EGP 134.12 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 119.89 billion by the end of 2024.

Alexandria Bank came in eighth place, after its portfolio of customer deposits increased by EGP 13.52 billion during the first 3 months of this year, to record EGP 181.55 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 168.04 billion by the end of 2024.

Kuwait Finance House – Egypt ranked ninth, as its portfolio of customer deposits jumped by EGP 12.21 billion during the first quarter of 2025, reaching EGP 129.30 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 117.09 billion by the end of 2024.

As for the tenth place, it went to the Arab International Banking Company «SAIB», after its customer deposit portfolio increased by about 12.13 billion pounds during the first 3 months of this year, reaching 129.58 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 117.45 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
