Housing & Development Bank, ALEXBANK, and Banque du Caire, Top Banks in Focusing on Retail Loans Investment by the End of March 2025

According to the list provided by First Bank of the most focused banks on personal loans by the end of March 2025, Housing & Development Bank topped the list. The bank’s personal loans accounted for 48.80% of the total customer loans, amounting to EGP 28.65 Bn by the end of March 2025, while total customer loans reached EGP 58.70 Bn during the same period.
The list measures investment trends of 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, specifically at the level of personal loan portfolios. It is based on the ratio of personal loans to total customer loans, providing an indicator of the extent to which customer loans in the bank are concentrated in personal loans by the end of March 2025.
Returning to the list, ALEXBANK secured the second position, with 44.36% of their total customer loans concentrated on their personal loan portfolio. Their personal loans amounted to EGP 33.33 Bn, while total customer loans reached EGP 75.13 Bn by the end of March 2025.
Banque du Caire ranked third, with personal loans accounting for 41.81% of their total customer loans. The bank recorded a personal loan portfolio of EGP 91.38 Bn, while its total customer loans reached EGP 218.56 Bn by the end of March 2025.
EGBANK came in fourth place, with a concentration ratio of 38.15% by the end of the same period. Their personal loans amounted to EGP 21.79 Bn, while total customer loans reached EGP 57.10 Bn.
ABK–Egypt ranked fifth, with personal loans accounting for 34.14% of their total customer loans. The bank recorded a personal loan portfolio of EGP 25.60 Bn, while total customer loans reached EGP 74.97 Bn by the end of March 2025.
BANK NXT came in sixth place, with personal loans representing 30.90% of their total customer loans, amounting to EGP 11.42 Bn. Their total customer loans were valued at EGP 36.95 Bn by the end of March 2025.
saib ranked seventh, with personal loans accounting for 30.30% of their total customer loans. The bank recorded a personal loan portfolio of EGP 22.22 Bn, while its total customer loans reached EGP 73.33 Bn by the end of March 2025.
HSBC came in eighth place, with personal loans representing 28.45% of their total customer loans, amounting to EGP 16.63 Bn. Total customer loans reached EGP 58.45 Bn by the end of March 2025.
Crédit Agricole Egypt ranked ninth, with personal loans representing 26.49% of their total customer loans. The bank’s personal loan portfolio was valued at EGP 15.41 Bn, while total customer loans amounted to EGP 58.15 Bn by the end of March 2025.
ADIB Egypt took the tenth place, with personal loans accounting for 25.64% of their total customer loans. The bank recorded a personal loan portfolio of EGP 30.24 Bn, while its total customer loans reached EGP 117.94 Bn by the end of March 2025.
