ADIB-Egypt, ADCB, and Attijariwafa: Fastest-Growing Foreign Banks in Total Assets Growth in last 3 years

ADIB-Egypt topped the list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt in terms of total assets over the past 3 years, with an average growth rate of 189.4%.
ADCB came second with 177.4%, followed by Attijariwafa in third place with 168%. NBK-Egypt and ABK-Egypt secured the fourth and fifth spots with average growth rates of 152.5% and 149.5%, respectively.
According to First Bank's list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt based on total assets over the past 3 years (2022–2024), ADIB– Egypt ranked first with an average growth of 189.4%, recording EGP 258.84 billion in 2024, up from EGP 89.45 billion in 2021
The ranking includes 11 foreign banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available for the three years. All of them achieved positive growth in total assets.
Notably, ABC and FABMISR achieve 486.8% and 370.9% as growth rate in last 3 years after underwenting acquisitions during this period, they were excluded to maintain the accuracy of comparison.
ADCB came second with an average growth rate of 177.4%, reaching EGP 134.16 billion in 2024, up from EGP 48.36 billion in 2021.
Attijariwafa ranked third with an average growth rate of 168%, recording EGP 124.76 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 46.55 billion in 2021.
NBK-Egypt followed in fourth place with an average growth rate of 152.5%, as total assets rose to EGP 195.66 billion in 2024, from EGP 77.49 billion in 2021.
ABK-Egypt came fifth, averaging 149.5% growth, with total assets reaching EGP 141.60 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 56.75 million in 2021.
QNB-Egypt ranked sixth with an average total assets growth rate of 128.4% over the past three years, reaching EGP 808.98 billion in 2024, up from EGP 354.2 billion in 2021.
Kuwait Finance House-Egypt followed in seventh place, with an average growth rate of 123.8%, as total assets rose to EGP 143.79 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 64.26 billion in 2021.
HSBC came in eighth, recording a 114.3% growth rate, with reaching EGP 283.46 billion in 2024, versus EGP 132.27 billion in 2021.
In ninth place Credit Agricole-Egypt reported 110.4% average growth rate, which increased to EGP 126.60 billion in 2024, up from EGP 60.18 billion in 2021.
Emirates NDB–Egypt secured the tenth spot, with an average growth rate of 92.5%, rising to EGP 158.93 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 82.58 billion in 2021.
