Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday, 17 August  2025 with an increase in the market cap by 1.18% to record EGP 547.269  bn compared to EGP 540.885   bn at last thursday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.44% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 100.54 mn which represents 2.80% of the total trading volume today after 3.23  million shares were exchanged capturing 0.24% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP  258.8 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” increased by 1.11% to reach 35.974 points EGX70 rose by 0.75% to record 10.687  points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 0.72% to record 10.687  points.
