Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday, 20 August 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 1.27% to record EGP 543.833  bn compared to EGP 550.812  bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.50% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 311.15  mn which represents 5.79% of the total trading volume today after 7.91  million shares were exchanged capturing 0.49% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with a decrease ,turnover amounted EGP  258.8 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.02% to reach 36.221 points “EGX70” decreased by 1.06% to record 10.885   points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 1.15% to record 14.580  points.
