ADCB, Attijariwafa, and HSBC Fastest-Growing Foreign Banks in terms of Financial Investments in the last 3 years
ADCB topped the list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt by financial investments over the past 3 years, with a growth rate of 128.5%.
Attijariwafa came second with 104.3%, followed by HSBC in third place with 104%. ElBaraka and QNB-Egypt secured the fourth and fifth spots with a growth rate of 102.8% and 94%, respectively.
According to First Bank's list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt based on financial investments over the past 3 years (2022–2024), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank «ADCB» ranked first with a growth rate of 128.5%, recording EGP 37.16 billion in 2024, up from EGP 16.26 billion in 2021
The ranking includes 11 foreign banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available for the three years. Nine of them achieved positive growth in financial investments, except two banks that recorded notable declines.
Notably, ABC and FABMISR achieved 629.1% and 562.1% with a growth rate over the last 3 years after undergoing acquisitions during this period, they were excluded to maintain the accuracy of comparison.
Attijariwafa Bank Egypt came second with a growth rate of 104.3%, reaching EGP 28.39 billion in 2024, up from EGP 13.89 billion in 2021.
HSBC ranked third with a growth rate of 104%, recording EGP 104.41 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 51.19 billion in 2021.
EL Baraka followed in fourth place with a growth rate of 102.8%, as financial investments rose to EGP 41.50 billion in 2024, from EGP 20.46 billion in 2021.
Qatar national Bank-Egypt «QNB-Egypt» came fifth, averaging 94% growth, with financial investments reaching EGP 251.92 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 129.87 billion in 2021.
