ADCB, ABK-Egypt, and Attijariwafa Fastest-Growing Foreign Banks in terms of Corporate’s Direct Loans in the last 3 years
ADCB topped the list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt by direct loans over the past 3 years, with a growth rate of 247.9%.
ABK-Egypt came second with 207.7%, followed by Attijariwafa in third place with 195.3 %. NBK-Egypt and Emirates NBD-Egypt secured the fourth and fifth spots with a growth rate of 161.3% and 159%, respectively.
According to First Bank's list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt based on direct loans over the past 3 years (2022–2024), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank «ADCB» ranked first with a growth rate of 247.9%, recording EGP 28.55 billion in 2024, up from EGP 8.21 billion in 2021
The ranking includes 11 foreign banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available for the three years. All of them achieved positive growth in financial investments
Notably, ABC and FABMISR achieved 785.1% and 1340.5% with a growth rate over the last 3 years after undergoing acquisitions during this period, they were excluded to maintain the accuracy of comparison.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK-Egypt» came second with a growth rate of 207.7%, reaching EGP 34.42 billion in 2024, up from EGP 11.19 billion in 2021.
Attijariwafa Bank Egypt ranked third with a growth rate of 195.3%, recording EGP 8.56 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 2.9 billion in 2021.
National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK-Egypt» followed in fourth place with a growth rate of 161.3%, as direct loans rose to EGP 76.17 billion in 2024, from EGP 29.14 billion in 2021.
Emirates NBD-Egypt came fifth, averaging 159% growth, with direct loans reaching EGP 24.37 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 9.41 billion in 2021.
