ADCB, NBK-Egypt, and Attijariwafa: Fastest-Growing Foreign Banks by Corporate Loans in the last 3 years

ADCB topped the list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt by corporate loans over the past 3 years, with an average growth rate of 193.6%.

NBK-Egypt came second with 165.6%, followed by Attijariwafa in third place with 165.5%. NBK-Egypt and AL Baraka secured the fourth and fifth spots with average growth rates of 161.7% and 121.3%, respectively.

According to First Bank's list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt based on corporate loans over the past 3 years (2022–2024), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank «ADCB»  ranked first with an average growth of 193.6%, recording EGP 43.77 billion in 2024, up from EGP 14.91 billion in 2021

The ranking includes 11 foreign banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available for the three years. All of them achieved positive growth in corporate finance.

Notably, ABC and FABMISR achieved 643.2% and 631.4% with growth rate over the last 3 years after undergoing acquisitions during this period, they were excluded to maintain the accuracy of comparison.

National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK-Egypt» came second with an average growth rate of 165.6%, reaching EGP 86.50 billion in 2024, up from EGP 32.57 billion in 2021.

Attijariwafa ranked third with an average growth rate of 165.5%, recording EGP 48.66 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 18.33 billion in 2021.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK-Egypt» followed in fourth place with an average growth rate of 161.7%, as corporate loans rose to EGP 46.19 billion in 2024, from EGP 17.65 billion in 2021.

AL Baraka came fifth, averaging 121.3% growth, with corporate loans reaching EGP 48.08 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 21.73 billion in 2021.

Kuwait Finance House-Egypt ranked sixth with an average corporate loans growth rate of 120.9% over the past three years, reaching EGP 80.04 billion in 2024, up from EGP 36.42 billion in 2021.

Emirates NDB–Egypt  followed in seventh place, with an average growth rate of 120.8%, as corporate loans rose to EGP 67.16 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 30.42 billion in 2021.

Adu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» came in eighth, recording an 116.5% growth rate, with corporate loans reaching EGP 75.08 billion in 2024, versus EGP 34.68 billion in 2021.

In ninth place Qatar national Bank-Egypt «QNB-Egypt» reported 101.3% average growth rate, which corporate loans increasing to EGP 298.90 billion in 2024, up from EGP 148.49 billion in 2021.

Credit Agricole-Egypt secured the tenth spot, with an average growth rate of 96.1%, rising to EGP 41 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 20.91 billion in 2021.
