ADIB-Egypt, ABK-Egypt, and HSBC Fastest-Growing Foreign Banks in terms of Shareholders’ Equity in the last 3 years

ADIB-Egypt topped the list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt by Shareholders’ Equity over the past 3 years, with a growth rate of 246.1%.
ABK-Egypt came second with 231.1%, followed by HSBC in third place with 175.2%.
Credit Agricole and Emirates NBD secured the fourth and fifth spots with a growth rate of 146.9% and 116.2%, respectively.
According to First Bank's list of the fastest-growing foreign banks in Egypt based on Shareholders’ Equity over the past 3 years (2022–2024), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» ranked first with a growth rate of 246.1%, recording EGP 22.37 billion in 2024, up from EGP 6.46 billion in 2021
The ranking includes 10 foreign banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available for the three years. All of them achieved positive growth rates.
Notably, ABC and FABMISR achieved 495.6% and 594.8% with a growth rate over the last 3 years after undergoing acquisitions during this period, they were excluded to maintain the accuracy of comparison.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK-Egypt» came second with a growth rate of 231.1%, reaching EGP 15.89 billion in 2024, up from EGP 4.80 billion in 2021.
HSBC Bank ranked third with a growth rate of 175.2%, recording EGP 49.18 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 17.87 billion in 2021.
Credit Agricole Bank followed in fourth place with a growth rate of 146.9%, as shareholders’ equity rose to EGP 21.41 billion in 2024, from EGP 8.67 billion in 2021.
Emirates NBD-Egypt came fifth, averaging 116.2% growth, with shareholders’ equity reaching EGP 17.38 billion in 2024, compared to EGP 8.04 billion in 2021.
