Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 25 September 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 0.91% to record EGP 536.12 bn compared to EGP 541.02 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 268.48 Mn which represents 6.05% of the total trading volume today after 4.84 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.35% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with a decrease in “EGX30” and an increase in “EGX70” and “EGX100”, however turnover amounted EGP 258.8 Mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.77% to record 35.988 points “EGX70” rose by 1.24% to record 10.757 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.82% to record 14.266 points.
