Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 12 October 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 1.17% to record EGP 570.03 bn compared to EGP 576.79 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.12% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 375.67 Mn which represents 7.42% of the total trading volume today after 14.19 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.04% of the total trading volume.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today's trading session with the main benchmark index EGX30 remaining stable, while the EGX70 and EGX100 indices ended higher, supported by a net foreign buying value of EGP 258.8 million.

The main benchmark index of the Egyptian Exchange, EGX30, remained stable at 37,490 points, while the EGX70 index for small and mid-cap stocks edged up by 0.09% to close at 11,383 points, The broader EGX100 index also gained 0.57%, ending the session at 15,078 points.
