EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.576 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded an increase against major currencies by the end of trading on Thursday, October 16, 2025, as the index value rose to 39.576 points, compared to 39.568 points at the end of Yesterday’s session.
The Egyptian Pound Index rose against major currencies at the end of today’s trading session, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, as the index value increased due to the pound’s appreciation against the US dollar, Chinese yuan, Saudi riyal, and UAE dirham, while it declined against the euro, British pound, and Japanese yen.
The average selling price of the US dollar decreased from EGP 47.69 to EGP 47.64 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price declined from EGP 47.59 to EGP 47.54.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan also fell from EGP 6.69 to EGP 6.68 by the close of trading, while the average buying price remained stable at EGP 6.67.
The Saudi riyal declined from EGP 12.71 to EGP 12.70 by the end of the day, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 12.69 to EGP 12.67.
Similarly, the UAE dirham decreased from EGP 12.98 to EGP 12.97 by the end of the session, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 12.95 to EGP 12.94
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 55.45 to EGP 55.49, while the average buying price increased from EGP 55.33 to EGP 55.37 by the end of trading.
The British pound also gained, with its average selling price rising from EGP 63.70 to EGP 63.97, and the average buying price increasing from EGP 63.55 to EGP 63.80.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen edged up from EGP 31.50 to EGP 31.52, while the average buying price increased from EGP 31.42 to EGP 31.44 by the end of today’s trading session.
