Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday closing

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 23 October 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 0.60% to record EGP 585.14 bn compared to EGP 581.56 bn at Yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.13% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 361.94 Mn which represents 5.5% of the total trading volume today after 14.09 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.7% of the total trading volume.
The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s trading session with all indices ending in green, supported by net foreign purchases amounting to EGP 130.2 million.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.29% to record 37.687 points, “EGX70” rose by 0.69% to record 12.144 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.74% to record 15.887 points.
