EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.789 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded an increase against major currencies by the end of trading on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, as the index rose to 39.789 points at the close of today’s session, compared to 39.743 points at the end of Monday’s trading.

The rise in the pound index came as a result of its appreciation against the US dollar, euro, British pound, Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, while it declined against the Japanese yen by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar fell from EGP 47.48 to EGP 47.40 by the close of today’s session, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 47.38 to EGP 47.30.

Similarly, the average selling price of the euro declined from EGP 55.28 to EGP 55.26, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 55.16 to EGP 55.13 by the end of trading.

The average selling price of the British pound also decreased from EGP 63.36 to EGP 63.10, while the average buying price fell from EGP 63.22 to EGP 62.95 by the close of today’s session.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan dropped from EGP 6.68 to EGP 6.67 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price in Egypt remained stable at EGP 6.66.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the UAE dirham fell from EGP 12.92 to EGP 12.90, and the average buying price declined from EGP 12.89 to EGP 12.88 by the end of the day.

The Saudi riyal also fell from EGP 12.66 to EGP 12.64 in selling price, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 12.63 to EGP 12.61 by the close of trading.

On the other hand, the average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from EGP 31.08 to EGP 31.19 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price increased from EGP 31.01 to EGP 31.12.
