EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 40.030 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies by the end of trading on Thursday, November 13, 2025, as the index value dropped to 40.030 points at the close of today’s trading, compared to 40.044 points at the end of Wednesday’s session.

The decline in the pound index came as a result of its depreciation against the euro, British pound, and Chinese yuan, while it strengthened against the US dollar, Japanese yen, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 54.74 to EGP 54.86 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price increased from EGP 54.61 to EGP 54.74.

The average selling price of the British pound rose from EGP 62.01 to EGP 62.20 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 61.86 to EGP 62.05.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan also increased from EGP 6.64 to EGP 6.65, while the average buying price rose from EGP 6.62 to EGP 6.64 by the end of today’s trading.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the US dollar fell from EGP 47.27 to EGP 47.23 by the end of the day, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 47.17 to EGP 47.13.

The average selling price of the Japanese yen declined from EGP 30.55 to EGP 30.53, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 30.48 to EGP 30.47 by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the UAE dirham decreased from EGP 12.87 to EGP 12.86, while the average buying price fell from EGP 12.84 to EGP 12.83.

Similarly, the average selling price of the Saudi riyal declined from EGP 12.60 to EGP 12.59, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 12.57 to EGP 12.56 by the end of trading today.
