EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 40.062 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies by the end of trading on Monday, November 17, 2025, as the index fell to 40.062 points at the end of today’s trading compared to 40.064 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on Sunday.
The decline in the pound index came as a result of its depreciation against the US dollar and the UAE dirham and its appreciation against the euro the British pound the Japanese yen and its stability against the Chinese yuan and the Saudi riyal at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar increased from EGP 47.18 to EGP 47.20 at the end of today’s trading and the average buying price increased from EGP 47.09 to EGP 47.10 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham increased from EGP 12.84 to EGP 12.85 at the end of today’s trading while the average buying price remained stable at EGP 12.82 at the end of today’s trading.
Meanwhile the average selling price of the euro declined from EGP 54.84 to EGP 54.81 at the end of today’s trading and the average buying price declined from EGP 54.71 to EGP 54.70 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the British pound declined from EGP 62.18 to EGP 62.17 at the end of today’s trading while the average buying price increased from EGP 62.00 to EGP 62.03 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also declined from EGP 30.53 to EGP 30.51 at the end of today’s trading and the average buying price declined from EGP 30.46 to EGP 30.44 at the end of today’s trading.
Meanwhile the average selling price of the Chinese yuan remained stable at EGP 6.64 at the end of today’s trading and the average buying price in Egypt remained stable at EGP 6.63 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal also remained stable at EGP 12.58 at the end of today’s trading while the average buying price increased from EGP 12.55 to EGP 12.56 at the end of today’s trading.
