EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 40.073 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded an increase against major currencies by the end of trading on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, as the index rose to 40.073 points at the close of today’s session, compared to 40.062 points at the end of Monday’s trading.

The rise in the pound index came as a result of its appreciation against the euro, the British pound, and the Japanese yen, as well as its appreciation against the US dollar and the Saudi riyal, while it remained stable against the Emirati dirham and the Chinese yuan at the close of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the euro declined from EGP 54.81 to EGP 54.73 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price fell from EGP 54.70 to EGP 54.61 at the close of trading.

The average selling price of the British pound decreased from EGP 62.17 to EGP 62.10 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price declined from EGP 62.03 to EGP 61.95 at today’s close.

The average selling price of the Japanese yen also dropped from EGP 30.51 to EGP 30.42 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price fell from EGP 30.44 to EGP 30.35 at the close of trading.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the US dollar increased from EGP 47.20 to EGP 47.22 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price rose from EGP 47.10 to EGP 47.12 at the close of trading.

The average selling price of the Saudi riyal increased from EGP 12.58 to EGP 12.59 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price remained stable at EGP 12.56 at today’s close.

The average selling price of the Emirati dirham remained stable at EGP 12.85 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price held steady at EGP 12.82 at today’s close.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan also remained stable at EGP 6.64 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price in Egypt declined from EGP 6.63 to EGP 6.62 at the close of trading.
