EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.946 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound Index recorded an increase against major currencies by the end of trading today, Thursday, 20 November 2025, as the value of the index rose to 39.946 points by the end of today’s trading, compared to 39.914 points at the end of yesterday’s Wednesday session.
The rise in the index came as a result of the pound’s appreciation against the euro, the British pound, and the Japanese yen, and its decline against the US dollar, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal, while remaining stable against the Chinese yuan by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the euro decreased from EGP 54.95 to EGP 54.69 by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from EGP 54.83 to EGP 54.57 at the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the British pound decreased from EGP 62.24 to EGP 62.04 by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from EGP 62.09 to EGP 61.89 by the close of today’s session.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also declined from EGP 30.36 to EGP 30.13 by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from EGP 30.30 to EGP 30.06 by the end of today’s session.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the US dollar increased from EGP 47.44 to EGP 47.50 by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from EGP 47.34 to EGP 47.40 at the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham increased from EGP 12.91 to EGP 12.93 by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price increased from EGP 12.88 to EGP 12.90 by the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal also increased from EGP 12.65 to EGP 12.66 by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from EGP 12.62 to EGP 12.63 by the end of today’s session.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the Chinese yuan remained stable at EGP 6.67 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price in Egypt increased from EGP 6.65 to EGP 6.66 by the end of today’s session.
