Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday closing

The banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange closed today, Thursday, 27 November 2025, with an increase in the sector’s market capitalization by 0.98%, reaching EGP 629.16 billion at the end of the session, compared to EGP 623.04 billion at yesterday’s close.

The banking sector’s market capitalization accounted for 22.76% of the total EGX market cap today, marking the highest percentage among all listed sectors on the Egyptian Exchange.

Trading value for banking sector shares totaled EGP 283.30 million, representing 5.55% of the total market turnover today, with 10.01 million shares exchanged, equivalent to 0.44% of the total trading volume on the exchange.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today with all indices rising, despite foreign investors turning net sellers with a net outflow of EGP 130.2 million.

The benchmark EGX30 Index rose by 1.27%, closing at 40,049 points, while the EGX70 Index, tracking medium-sized stocks, gained 0.67% to 12,252 points. The broader EGX100 Index increased by 0.74%, ending the session at 16,236 points.
