The Egyptian Pound Index Declines to 39.613 Points at the End of Trading on Thursday, December 4
The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies at the end of trading today, Thursday, December 4, 2025, as the index fell to 39.613 points by the end of today’s session, compared to 39.617 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on Wednesday.
The decline in the pound index came as a result of its depreciation against the euro, the British pound, and the Japanese yen, while it appreciated against the US dollar, the Chinese yuan, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal at the close of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the euro increased from EGP 55.58 to EGP 55.60 at the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price rose from EGP 55.46 to EGP 55.48 at the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the British pound also rose from EGP 63.36 to EGP 63.60, and the average buying price increased from EGP 63.22 to EGP 63.46 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen increased from EGP 30.65 to EGP 30.80 at the end of today’s session, while the average buying price rose from EGP 30.59 to EGP 30.74 at today’s close.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the US dollar decreased from EGP 47.63 to EGP 47.62 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price declined from EGP 47.54 to EGP 47.51 at the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan fell from EGP 6.74 to EGP 6.73, and the average buying price in Egypt declined from EGP 6.73 to EGP 6.71 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham decreased from EGP 12.97 to EGP 12.96 at the end of today’s session, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 12.94 to EGP 12.93.
Likewise, the average selling price of the Saudi riyal declined from EGP 12.69 to EGP 12.68, and the average buying price decreased from EGP 12.66 to EGP 12.65 at the end of today’s trading.
