EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.624 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound Index declined against major currencies at the close of trading on Monday, December 15, 2025, falling to 39.624 points at the end of today’s session, compared with 39.638 points at the close of trading on Sunday.

The decline in the pound index came as a result of its depreciation against the euro, the British pound, the Japanese yen, and the Chinese yuan, while it strengthened against the US dollar and the UAE dirham, and remained stable against the Saudi riyal by the close of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 55.81 to EGP 55.85 at the close of trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 55.68 to EGP 55.72 by the end of the session.

The average selling price of the British pound increased from EGP 63.58 to EGP 63.64, while the average buying price rose from EGP 63.41 to EGP 63.47 at the close of trading.

The average selling price of the Japanese yen also rose from EGP 30.50 to EGP 30.65, while the average buying price increased from EGP 30.43 to EGP 30.58 by the end of the session.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan increased from EGP 6.73 to EGP 6.74, while the average buying price in Egypt remained stable at EGP 6.72 at the close of trading.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the US dollar declined from EGP 47.53 to EGP 47.51, and the average buying price fell from EGP 47.43 to EGP 47.41 by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the UAE dirham decreased from EGP 12.94 to EGP 12.93, while the average buying price declined from EGP 12.91 to EGP 12.90 at the close of trading.

The average selling price of the Saudi riyal remained stable at EGP 12.66, while the average buying price edged down from EGP 12.64 to EGP 12.63 by the close of the session.
