Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday closing

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 21 December 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 2.02% to record EGP 663.42 bn compared to EGP 650.31 bn at Thursday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.30% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 1.51 bn which represents 20.73% of the total trading volume today after 19.13 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.57% of the total trading volume.
The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s trading session with gains in the EGX30 and EGX100 indices, while the EGX70 index declined, amid a selling trend by foreign investors with net sales amounting to EGP 130.2 million.
The main index of the Egyptian Exchange, EGX30, rose by 1.03% to reach 41,364 points, while the EGX70 index for small- and mid-cap stocks declined by 0.09% to 12,931 points, and the broader EGX100 index increased by 0.05% to record 17,114 points.
