«SC Bank», «Emirates NBD-Egypt», and «ADIB-Egypt» Lead Private-Sector Banks in Customer Deposit Growth During the First 9 Months of 2025

«CIB» maintains its leadership among private-sector banks, recording the largest absolute increase and the highest deposit portfolio value
Islamic banks secure only one position among the top 10 fastest-growing private-sector banks in customer deposits
The First Bank list of the fastest-growing private-sector banks operating in Egypt in terms of customer deposits during the first 9 months of 2025 revealed that Suez Cannel Bank «SC Bank» ranked first, after its customer deposit portfolio grew by 32.6% during the first 9 months of 2025, reaching EGP 179.69 billion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 135.47 billion at the end of 2024.
Emirates NBD-Egypt came in second, recording a growth rate of 32.2% during the first 9 months of the current year, with its customer deposit portfolio reaching EGP 169.41 billion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 128.18 billion at the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» ranked third, achieving a growth rate of 31.7% during the first 9 months of 2025, after its customer deposit portfolio reached EGP 263.83 billion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 200.28 billion at the end of 2024.
The classification highlighted the continued superiority of Commercial International Bank «CIB» as the largest private-sector bank in terms of both the absolute increase and the total portfolio value, with its customer deposits reaching EGP 1.04 trillion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 967.90 billion at the end of 2024, reflecting a growth rate of 7.8% and an absolute increase of EGP 75.31 billion.
The First Bank list monitored total customer deposit portfolios at 20 private-sector banks operating within the Egyptian banking system for which financial data were available during the first 9 months of 2025. The analysis showed that all banks recorded positive growth rates, based on the standalone financial statements disclosed by each bank.
It is worth noting that private-sector banks are defined as banks in which the total share of private ownership exceeds 50%, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Business Sector.
The data also revealed strong performance by foreign banking groups operating in Egypt, which dominated 7 positions among the top 10 fastest-growing private-sector banks in customer deposits during the first 9 months of 2025, namely: Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Attijariwafa Bank, and Crédit Agricole, while other banks were absent from the top ten positions.
At the level of Islamic banks, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank appeared as the sole representative among the top 10 fastest-growing private-sector banks in customer deposits, with other Islamic banks absent from the leading ranks.
