Corporate Deposits Decline at 4 Banks During the first 9M – 2025.
Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt took the top spot in First Bank’s ranking of the fastest-growing banks in institutional deposits over the first nine months of 2025, with its portfolio rising by 34.6% to reach EGP 5.67 bn by the end of September 2025, up from EGP 4.21 bn at year-end 2024.
Suez Canal Bank secured second place, posting a solid 29.7% increase in institutional deposits, bringing the total to EGP 148.30 bn by September 2025 compared to EGP 114.34 bn at the close of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt »ADIB Egypt« claimed third position, recording a strong 23.1% growth, with its institutional deposit portfolio climbing to EGP 139.68 bn by the end of September, compared to EGP 113.48 bn at the end of the previous year.
The ranking, compiled by First Bank, covered institutional deposit figures for 27 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector with available financial data as of September 2025. Of these, 23 banks achieved positive growth in institutional deposits, while four recorded a decline during the period.
Private-sector banks demonstrated clear dominance, securing 9 of the top 10 positions in the fastest-growing category. The private banks featured in the top 10 were: Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt, Suez Canal Bank, ADIB Egypt, SAIB Bank, Emirates NBD Egypt, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt, First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt, and Commercial International Bank »CIB«.
Among banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange, half of the top 10 positions were occupied by publicly traded institutions: Faisal Islamic Bank, Suez Canal Bank, ADIB Egypt, SAIB Bank, and Housing and Development Bank.
Arab banking groups operating in Egypt also showed a strong presence, capturing 6 places in the top 10. These included: ADIB Egypt, Emirates NBD Egypt, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt, First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt, and Attijariwafa Bank.
Islamic banks continued to strengthen their footprint in the Egyptian market, with two institutions making it into the top 10 fastest-growing banks in institutional deposits: Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt.
On the other hand, four banks experienced a decline in institutional deposits during the period: »CIB«, Arab African International Bank, Al Baraka Bank, and Bank of Alexandria.
