Corporate Financing Declines at One Bank During the First Nine Months
The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing banks in corporate financing including small loans for economic activities during the first nine months of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list, recording a growth rate of 35.3%. The bank’s corporate loan portfolio rose to EGP 99.70 billion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 73.67 billion at the end of 2024.
BANK NXT secured second place, with its corporate loan portfolio growing by 32.8% during the first nine months of 2025, reaching EGP 29.46 billion by the end of September 2025, up from EGP 22.19 billion at the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank–Egypt ranked third, with its corporate financing portfolio reaching approximately EGP 99.59 billion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 75.08 billion at the end of 2024, recording a growth rate of 32.6% during the first nine months of 2025.
The First Bank ranking monitored total corporate financing across 27 banks operating within the Egyptian banking sector for which the required financial data were available. The results showed that 26 banks recorded positive growth rates in their corporate financing portfolios, while only one bank posted a slight decline during the first nine months of 2025.
The ranking highlighted the continued dominance of the private sector in leading positions, as private banks captured 8 spots among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, namely: Suez Canal Bank, BANK NXT, ADIB, CIB, ADCB, ABK-Egypt, QNB Egypt, and FABMISR.
Meanwhile, state-owned banks secured two positions among the top 10, with The United Bank ranking seventh, while EBank placed tenth.
At the level of Arab banking groups operating in Egypt, these institutions accounted for half of the top 10 fastest-growing banks in corporate financing, represented by ADIB, ADCB, ABK-Egypt, QNB Egypt, and FABMISR.
Islamic banks captured only one position in the top 10 list, with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank–Egypt ranking third.
The data also showed a clear outperformance by banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange, which secured six positions among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, namely: Suez Canal Bank, ADIB, CIB, QNB Egypt, The United Bank, and EBank.
On the other hand, only one bank recorded a slight decline in its corporate loan portfolio during the first nine months of 2025. HSBC’s corporate loan portfolio declined by 2.7%, reaching EGP 41.01 billion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 42.16 billion at the end of 2024.
