Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday closing

Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on Monday, 26 January 2026, with an increase in the sector’s market capitalization by 0.99%, reaching EGP 781.61 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 773.89 billion at the close of last Sunday’s session.

The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 25.39% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.

The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 720.18 million, representing 10.05% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 11.42 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.64% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session with a broad-based rise in EGX30, and the decline of “EGX70” and “EGX100” amid a trend of foreign investors toward net buying of EGP 258.8 million.

The main index, EGX30, rose by 1.39% to 47.507 points, while EGX70 decreased by 0.63% to 12.636 points, and EGX100 fell by 0.17% to 17.283 points.
