Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday closing

Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on thursday 5 February 2026, with an increase in the sector’s market capitalization by 0.21%, reaching EGP 799.267 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 797.604 billion at the close of last wednesday’s session.

The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 25.35% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.

The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.57 billion, representing 19.83% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 16.48 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.73% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session with a broad-based rise of “EGX30”, While “EGX70” and “EGX100” decline amid a trend of foreign investors toward net buying of EGP 258.8 million.

The main index EGX30 increased by 0.22% to 49.739 points, and EGX70 decreased by 0.14% to 12.770 points, and EGX100 fell by 0.16% to 17.661 points.
