«ADCB», «QNB» Egypt, and «ABK-Egypt» are the fastest-growing banks in syndicated loans during the first 9M of 2025

Syndicated loans decline at 9 banks during the first nine months of 2025
The list issued by «First Bank» for the fastest-growing banks in syndicated loans during the first nine months of 2025 revealed that Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank–Egypt «ADCB» topped the list, after its syndicated loan portfolio increased by around 77.2%, reaching EGP 11.34 bn by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 6.40 bn at the end of 2024.
Qatar National Bank «QNB» Egypt ranked second, as its syndicated loan portfolio grew by approximately 60.3% during the first nine months of 2025, reaching EGP 55.74 bn by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 34.78 bn at the end of 2024.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait–Egypt «ABK-Egypt» secured the third position, after its syndicated loan portfolio jumped by about 57.4% during the first nine months of 2025, reaching EGP 5.27 bn by the end of September 2025, versus EGP 3.35 bn at the end of 2024.
The «First Bank» list monitored total syndicated loans at 25 banks operating within the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial statements were available as of the end of September 2025. The data showed that 16 banks achieved positive growth rates in their total syndicated loans, while 9 banks recorded a noticeable decline during the first nine months of 2025.
The ranking revealed the private sector’s success in dominating the top of the list, with private banks capturing 8 positions among the fastest-growing 10 banks, including: «ADCB», «QNB» Egypt, «ABK-Egypt», «FABMISR», «ADIB», «Al Baraka», «Emirates NBD», and «BANK NXT».
Meanwhile, public banks secured two seats among the fastest-growing 10 banks, with Housing and Development Bank ranking seventh, while United Bank captured the tenth position.
The list also highlighted a strong Arab presence, as Gulf banking groups operating in Egypt captured 7 seats among the fastest-growing 10 banks, represented by: «ADCB», «QNB» Egypt, «ABK-Egypt», «FABMISR», «ADIB», «Al Baraka», and «Emirates NBD».
Islamic banks strengthened their presence, securing two seats among the fastest-growing 10 banks, with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank–Egypt ranking fifth, while Al Baraka Bank claimed the sixth position.
Regarding banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange, they occupied half of the seats among the fastest-growing 10 banks, namely: «QNB» Egypt, «ADIB», «Al Baraka», «Housing and Development», and «United Bank».
On the other hand, syndicated loan volumes declined at 9 banks during the first nine months of 2025, including: «saib», «CIB», «National Bank of Egypt», «Banque Misr», «EGBANK», «Kuwait Finance House–Egypt», «Credit Agricole–Egypt», «Attijariwafa», and «AlexBank».
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone published financial statements of each bank as of the end of September 2025.
