«NBK-Egypt», «BANK NXT», and «Banque du Caire» are the fastest-growing banks in real estate financing during the first 9M of 2025

«NBK-Egypt» Tops the List… «BANK NXT» Takes Second Place

A clear dominance of the private sector was evident, with private banks securing 8 seats among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, compared to only 2 for public banks

Listed banks showed remarkable performance, with 6 banks among the fastest-growing

5 banks recorded a decline in real estate financing during the first nine months of 2025

The «First Bank» ranking of the fastest-growing banks in real estate financing during the first nine months of 2025 revealed that «NBK-Egypt» led the list, with its real estate financing portfolio rising by approximately 75.9%, to reach 3.12 EGP bn by the end of September 2025, compared to 1.78 EGP bn at the end of 2024.

«BANK NXT» secured the second position, as its real estate financing portfolio increased by around 44.2% during the first nine months of the year, reaching 2.60 EGP bn by September 2025, compared to 1.80 EGP bn at the end of 2024.

«Banque du Caire» ranked third, with its real estate financing portfolio growing by 38.1% during the same period, reaching 11.81 EGP bn by September 2025, up from 8.55 EGP bn at the end of 2024.

The «First Bank» list monitored the total real estate financing of 21 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data were available by the end of September 2025. The data showed that 16 banks achieved positive growth rates, while 5 banks experienced a noticeable decline during the first nine months of 2025.

The private sector clearly dominated the rankings, with «NBK-Egypt», «BANK NXT», «Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt», «QNB Egypt», « CIB», «SAIB», «Egyptian Gulf Bank», and «Crédit Agricole» all securing positions among the top 10 fastest-growing banks.

In contrast, public banks captured only two spots, with «Banque du Caire» in third place and «United Bank» in tenth.

Regarding foreign banking groups operating in Egypt, 4 banks appeared among the top 10 fastest-growing in real estate financing, including «NBK-Egypt», «Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt», «QNB Egypt», and «Crédit Agricole».

On the level of banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, six secured places among the top 10 fastest-growing banks: «QNB Egypt», « CIB», «SAIB», «Egyptian Gulf Bank», «Crédit Agricole», and «United Bank».

Meanwhile, the banks that recorded a significant decline in their real estate financing portfolios were: «Arab African International Bank», «First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt», «Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt», «Al Baraka Bank», and «HSBC».
