The ranking issued by «First Bank» for the top banks in the Employee Profitability Index in the Egyptian banking sector for the first 9 months of 2025 revealed that «HSBC», «CIB», and «FABMISR» led the ranking.
This ranking, issued by «First Bank», is based on measuring employee profitability, starting from the CEO – the most influential – through executive leadership down to the lowest levels of the organizational structure.
Measurement is conducted through the average contribution of a single employee to the bank’s net profits, reflecting the operational efficiency and productivity of human capital within each bank.
The ranking by «First Bank» for the Employee Profitability Index included 27 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data were available from January to the end of September 2025.
Based on this, «First Bank» highlights the top 10 banks in the Employee Profitability Index in the Egyptian banking sector for 2025, relying on precise professional criteria, including the number of employees and net profits achieved during the first 9 months of 2025.
«HSBC» – Best in Employee Profitability Index
HSBC recorded strong profits during the first 9 months of 2025, placing it among the top 5 profit-generating banks in the Egyptian banking market, thanks to the outstanding performance of its employees.
According to independent financial statements, the bank achieved net profits of 14.41 B EGP during the first 9 months of 2025, with 1,626 employees by the end of September 2025, resulting in an average contribution per employee of 8.86 M EGP.
The bank’s top position in the ranking, despite a decline in profits, demonstrates its success in optimally utilizing its workforce through a balanced operational model linking workforce size to profit growth.
«CIB» – Leading Private Sector Bank in Profitability
CIB achieved record profits in 2025, placing it at the top among private sector banks in terms of profitability for the first 9 months of the year, reflecting strong employee performance and operational efficiency.
According to independent financial statements, the bank achieved net profits of 62.21 B EGP, with 8,532 employees by the end of September 2025, resulting in an average contribution per employee of 7.29 M EGP.
This performance reflects the bank’s ability to generate strong profits supported by high human resource efficiency, significantly boosting employee profitability.
«First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt» – Top UAE Bank in Employee Profitability
FABMISR stands out as one of the largest UAE banks operating in the Egyptian market. Despite a decline in net profits last year, it maintained its position among the top banks in the Employee Profitability Index for 2025.
The average contribution per employee reached 5.27 M EGP, with net profits of 13.24 B EGP and 2,512 employees by the end of September 2025.
«National Bank of Egypt (NBE)» – Highest Profit-Generating Bank in Egypt
NBE achieved unprecedented profits last year, retaining its leadership among Egyptian banks in the first 9 months of 2025, and ranked 6th among the top 100 profit-generating banks in the Arab region.
