The «First Bank» ranking of the top banks in terms of deposit-to-loan utilization by the end of September 2025 revealed that National Bank of Egypt ranked first, recording a utilization ratio of 80.51%, after its total customer loans reached approximately EGP 4.53 tn by the end of September 2025, while total customer deposits stood at EGP 5.63 tn over the same period.
Kuwait Finance House – Egypt secured second place with a utilization ratio of 76.06%, as its customer financing portfolio amounted to around EGP 99.80 bn by the end of September 2025, while customer deposits reached EGP 131.22 bn during the same period.
National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt ranked third, posting a utilization ratio of 67.63%, after its customer loan portfolio rose to approximately EGP 120.87 bn by the end of September 2025, while customer deposits stood at around EGP 178.71 bn.
The ranking, which covered 27 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, showed that 26 banks achieved solid deposit utilization ratios ranging between 80.51% and 26.24%. Meanwhile, Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt continued to move against the broader sector trend, recording the lowest deposit-to-loan utilization ratio by the end of September 2025.
The classification highlighted a clear dominance of private-sector banks, which captured 7 positions among the top 10 banks in deposit-to-loan utilization. These included: «Kuwait Finance House – Egypt », «National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt », «Suez Canal Bank», «Al Baraka Bank Egypt», «QNB Egypt», «Emirates NBD Egypt», and «FABMISR».
Public-sector banks, meanwhile, secured 3 seats within the top 10. «National Bank of Egypt » ranked first, «EBank» came in fourth place, while «Banque du Caire» claimed the tenth position.
Islamic banks captured two positions among the top 10 banks in deposit utilization for lending, with «Kuwait Finance House – Egypt » ranking second and «Al Baraka Bank Egypt» placing sixth.
Regarding Gulf banking groups operating in the Egyptian market, they accounted for 6 positions among the top 10 banks, represented by: «Kuwait Finance House – Egypt », «National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt », «Al Baraka Bank Egypt», «QNB Egypt», «Emirates NBD Egypt», and «FABMISR».
Listed banks on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) secured 4 positions among the top 10 banks, namely: «EBank», «Suez Canal Bank», «Al Baraka Bank Egypt», and «QNB Egypt».
