Housing & Development Bank, CIB, and ADIB Egypt Are the Fastest-Growing Listed Banks on the Egyptian Stock Exchange in Equity During 2025

Only one listed bank recorded a decline in equity during 2025

The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing listed banks in equity during 2025 revealed that Housing & Development Bank led the list, achieving a growth rate of 54.9%, with its equity portfolio reaching EGP 37.54 bn by the end of 2025, compared to EGP 24.24 bn at the end of 2024.

Commercial International Bank «CIB» secured the second spot, with its equity increasing by 51.6% in 2025, reaching EGP 230.01 bn by December 2025, up from EGP 151.69 bn at the end of 2024.

ADIB Egypt claimed third place, recording a growth rate of 50.4%, as its equity portfolio rose to EGP 33.65 bn by the end of 2025, compared to EGP 22.37 bn at the end of 2024.

The ranking, which included all 12 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange with available financial data, showed that 11 banks achieved positive growth in total equity, while only one bank recorded a notable decline in 2025.

The list highlighted private sector dominance, with CIB, ADIB Egypt, Suez Canal Bank, and EGBANK occupying four of the top five spots, while Housing & Development Bank represented the only public bank among the top five.

Among Gulf banking groups operating in Egypt, ADIB Egypt was the only bank to secure a spot in the top five, reinforcing its presence not only as a subsidiary of a Gulf group but also as the only Islamic bank appearing among the top five.

Conversely, one bank recorded a decline in its equity portfolio, namely SAIB, whose equity decreased by 2.1%, reaching EGP 19.31 bn by the end of 2025, compared to EGP 19.72 bn at the end of 2024.

It is worth noting that all figures and growth rates mentioned above are based on the standalone financial statements announced by each bank for the year ending 2025.
