The First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in assets adjusted for exchange rate impact during the first 9 months of 2025 revealed that Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait - Egypt (ABK Egypt) topped the list with an adjusted growth rate of 38% during the first 9 months of 2025, as its asset portfolio reached 173.73 billion Egyptian pounds at the end of September 2025.
Emirates NBD Egypt ranked second with a growth rate of 36% after neutralizing the exchange rate impact during the first 9 months of 2025, after its asset portfolio recorded 212.3 billion Egyptian pounds at the end of September 2025.
Suez Canal Bank secured the third position with a growth rate of 30.2% after adjusting for exchange rate impact during the first 9 months of 2025, with its asset portfolio reaching 231.52 billion Egyptian pounds at the end of September 2025.
This ranking illustrates the real growth volume of asset portfolios for banks operating in the Egyptian banking system during the first 9 months of 2025. It is worth noting that the First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in assets after neutralizing the exchange rate impact included 24 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which the necessary financial data were available.
The list revealed that private banks captured 8 seats among the top 10 fastest growing banks in assets after neutralizing the exchange rate impact during the first 9 months of 2025, represented by: ABK Egypt, Emirates NBD, Suez Canal Bank, ADIB Egypt, saib, BANK NXT, FABMISR, and Attijariwafa Bank.
Public banks occupied two seats within the top ten, as Banque Misr ranked seventh and Housing and Development Bank secured ninth place.
Islamic banks claimed a single seat among the 10 fastest growing banks in assets after neutralizing the exchange rate impact, with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB Egypt) ranking fourth.
Regarding foreign banking groups operating in Egypt, they captured half of the spots for the 10 fastest growing banks, including: ABK Egypt, Emirates NBD Egypt, ADIB Egypt, FABMISR, and Attijariwafa Bank.
Additionally, banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange controlled 4 positions within the top ten: Suez Canal Bank, ADIB Egypt, saib, and Housing and Development Bank.
