The First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in customer deposits adjusted for exchange rate impact during the first 9 months of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list with an adjusted growth rate of 35.5%, as its customer deposit portfolio recorded 179.69 billion Egyptian pounds at the end of September 2025.
Emirates NBD Egypt ranked second with a growth rate of 34.35% after neutralizing the exchange rate impact during the first 9 months of last year, after its deposit portfolio recorded 169.41 billion Egyptian pounds at the end of September 2025.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Egypt (ADIB) secured the third position with a growth rate of 34.30% after adjusting for exchange rate impact in the first 9 months of 2025, with its deposit portfolio reaching 263.83 billion Egyptian pounds at the end of last September.
This ranking illustrates the real growth volume of deposit portfolios for banks operating in the Egyptian banking system during the first 9 months of 2025. It is worth noting that the First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in deposits after neutralizing the exchange rate impact included 24 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which the necessary financial data were available.
The list revealed that private banks captured 8 seats among the top 10 fastest growing banks in customer deposits after neutralizing the exchange rate impact during the first 9 months of 2025, represented by: Suez Canal Bank, Emirates NBD, ADIB, saib, ABK Egypt, FABMISR, BANK NXT, and Attijariwafa Bank.
Public banks occupied two seats within the top ten, as Banque Misr ranked ninth and the United Bank secured tenth place.
Islamic banks claimed a single seat among the 10 fastest growing banks in customer deposits after neutralizing the exchange rate impact, with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank ranking third.
Regarding Arab banking groups operating in Egypt, they captured half of the spots for the 10 fastest growing banks, including: Emirates NBD Egypt, ADIB Egypt, ABK Egypt, FABMISR, and Attijariwafa Bank.
Additionally, banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange claimed 4 seats within the top ten: Suez Canal Bank, ADIB Egypt, saib, and the United Bank.
