EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 34.812 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound index decrease against major currencies at the end of trading on thursday 2 April 2026, where the value of the index fell to 34.812 points at the end of today's trading, compared to 35.200 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on wednesday.

The decline of the Pound index came as a result of its decreased against the US dollar, the euro, the pound sterling, the Chinese yuan, the Japanese yen, the UAE dirham, Saudi riyal at the end of today's trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 53.67 to EGP 54.40 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 53.57 to EGP 54.30 by the close of trading.

The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 62.28 to EGP 62.71 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 62.15 to EGP 62.59 .

The average selling price of the pound sterling rose from EGP 71.38 to EGP 71.89 at the end of today's trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 71.22 to EGP 71.74 .

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan rose from EGP 7.80 to EGP 7.89 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 7.79 to EGP 7.87 .

The average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from EGP 33.84 to EGP 34.09 and the average purchase price rose from EGP 33.78 to EGP 34.01 .

The average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 14.62 to EGP 14.82 at the end of today’s trading, while the purchase price in Egypt rose from EGP 14.58 to EGP 14.78 .

The average selling price of the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 14.30 to EGP 14.49 at the end of today’s trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 14.27 to EGP 14.46 at the end of today’s trading.
