EGP index Decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.828 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index witnessed a decline against major currencies at the end of trading on Sunday, January 25, 2026, where the value of the index fell to 39.828 points at the end of today's trading, compared to 39,940 points at the end of last Thursday's trading.
The decline in the pound index came as a result of its decline against the euro, the Japanese yen, the British pound, its stability against the Chinese yuan, and its rise against the dollar, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal at the end of today's trading.
The average selling price of the dollar fell from 47.19 pounds to 47.11 pounds at the end of today’s trading, and the average purchase price fell from 47.09 pounds to 47.01 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the euro rose from 55.24 pounds to 55.74 pounds at the end of today’s trading, and the average purchase price rose from 55.11 pounds to 55.60 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the pound sterling rose from 63.40 pounds to 64.31 pounds at the end of today's trading, while the average purchase price rose from 63.23 pounds to 64.13 pounds at the end of today's trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from 29.76 pounds to 30.26 pounds at the end of today’s trading, and the average purchase price rose from 29.69 pounds to 30.19 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan stabilized at 6.76 at the end of the day, and the average purchase price stabilized at 6.79 pounds at the end of the day.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham also fell from 12.85 pounds to 12.82 pounds at the end of today’s transactions, and the purchase price in Egypt fell from 12.82 pounds to 12.79 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average price of the Saudi riyal fell from 12.58 pounds to 12.56 pounds at the end of today’s trading, and the average purchase price fell from 12.55 pounds to 12.53 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
