EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 40.001 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies by the end of trading on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, as the index value dropped to 40.001 points, compared to 40.060 points at the close of trading on Monday.
The decline in the pound index was driven by its depreciation against the U.S. dollar, Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, while it strengthened against the euro and British pound by the end of the day.
The average selling price of the U.S. dollar rose from EGP 47.29 to EGP 47.41, while the average buying price increased from EGP 47.19 to EGP 47.31.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also climbed from EGP 30.68 to EGP 30.87, while the average buying price rose from EGP 30.61 to EGP 30.80.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan increased slightly from EGP 6.64 to EGP 6.65, and the average buying price rose from EGP 6.62 to EGP 6.63.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham went up from EGP 12.87 to EGP 12.90, while the average buying price increased from EGP 12.84 to EGP 12.88.
Similarly, the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 12.61 to EGP 12.64, and the average buying price moved up from EGP 12.58 to EGP 12.61 by the end of the day.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the euro declined from EGP 54.49 to EGP 54.44, and the average buying price dropped from EGP 54.36 to EGP 54.32.
The average selling price of the British pound also fell from EGP 62.17 to EGP 61.92, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 62.00 to EGP 61.77 at the close of trading.
