EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.936 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies by the end of trading on Sunday, November 9, 2025, as the index value fell to 39.936 points at the end of today’s session, compared to 39.967 points at the end of last Thursday’s trading.

The decline in the pound’s index came as a result of its depreciation against the euro, British pound, and Japanese yen, while it appreciated against the U.S. dollar and remained stable against the Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 54.67 to EGP 54.81 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price increased from EGP 54.55 to EGP 54.68.

The average selling price of the British pound also rose from EGP 62.09 to EGP 62.38 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price increased from EGP 61.93 to EGP 62.21.

The average selling price of the Japanese yen increased from EGP 30.86 to EGP 30.89, while the average buying price rose from EGP 30.79 to EGP 30.81 by the end of today’s trading.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the U.S. dollar declined slightly from EGP 47.39 to EGP 47.38 by the end of today’s session, and the average buying price decreased from EGP 47.29 to EGP 47.28.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan remained stable at EGP 6.65, while the average buying price decreased slightly from EGP 6.64 to EGP 6.63 by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the UAE dirham remained steady at EGP 12.90, while the average buying price also stabilized at EGP 12.87 by the end of today’s session.

The average selling price of the Saudi riyal remained unchanged at EGP 12.63, while the average buying price decreased slightly from EGP 12.61 to EGP 12.60 by the end of today’s trading.
