EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.966 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies by the end of trading on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, with the index falling to 39.966 points compared to 40.001 points at the close of Tuesday’s session.
The decline in the index came as a result of the pound weakening against the US dollar, euro, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, while it strengthened against the British pound and remained stable against the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 47.41 to EGP 47.45, while the average buying price increased from EGP 47.31 to EGP 47.35.
The average selling price of the euro also increased from EGP 54.44 to EGP 54.53, while the average buying price rose from EGP 54.32 to EGP 54.41.
Similarly, the average selling price of the UAE dirham climbed from EGP 12.90 to EGP 12.92, with the average buying price increasing from EGP 12.88 to EGP 12.89.
The Saudi riyal rose from EGP 12.64 to EGP 12.65, while the average buying price went up from EGP 12.61 to EGP 12.62.
On the other hand, the British pound fell from EGP 61.92 to EGP 61.88 for selling, while the buying price dropped from EGP 61.77 to EGP 61.73.
The Japanese yen remained stable at EGP 30.87 for selling, while the buying price inched up from EGP 30.80 to EGP 30.81 by the end of today’s session.
Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan also remained stable at EGP 6.65 for selling, while its average buying price rose slightly from EGP 6.63 to EGP 6.64 by the end of the trading day.
