EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.967 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index rose against major currencies at the close of trading on Thursday, November 6, 2025, reaching 39.967 points, compared to 39.966 points at the end of Wednesday’s session.
The rise in the pound’s index came as a result of its appreciation against the US dollar, Japanese yen, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, while it declined against the euro and the British pound, and remained stable against the Chinese yuan by the end of the day.
The average selling price of the US dollar fell from EGP 47.45 to EGP 47.39 by the end of the session, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 47.35 to EGP 47.29.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen declined from EGP 30.87 to EGP 30.86, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 30.81 to EGP 30.79 by the end of the day.
Similarly, the average selling price of the UAE dirham fell from EGP 12.92 to EGP 12.90, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 12.89 to EGP 12.87.
The Saudi riyal also fell, with the selling price decreasing from EGP 12.65 to EGP 12.63, and the average buying price dropping from EGP 12.62 to EGP 12.61.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 54.53 to EGP 54.67, while the average buying price increased from EGP 54.41 to EGP 54.55.
The average selling price of the British pound also rose from EGP 61.88 to EGP 62.09, while the average buying price increased from EGP 61.73 to EGP 61.93 by the end of the session.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan remained stable at EGP 6.65, with the average buying price also unchanged at EGP 6.64 at the close of trading.
