Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday

Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on thursday 30 April 2026, with an decrease in the sector’s market capitalization by 0.93% reaching EGP 854.192 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 862.189 billion at the close of yesterday’s session.

The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 23.77% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.

The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 726.46 million, representing 6.59% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 11.37 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.47% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.

The Egyptian Exchange closed at the end of today’s trading session with mixed performance: the EGX30 and EGX100 indices declined, while the EGX70 index rose. This came amid a trend of foreign investors heading toward buying, with a net value of EGP 258.8 million.

The main index “EGX30” decreased by 1.19% to 51.760 points, and “EGX70” rose by 0.04% to 14.028 points, and “EGX100” fell by 0.18% to 19.591 points.
