Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday

The banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on Monday, May 4, 2026, recording a decline in its market capitalization by 0.23%, reaching EGP 873.718 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to the previous day’s closing.

The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.46% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.

Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 716.97 million, representing 5.96% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 18.15 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.70% of the overall trading volume of the market.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session with the main index “EGX30” declining, while both “EGX70” and “EGX100” indices rose, amid foreign investors’ tendency toward buying with a net inflow of EGP 258.8 million.

The main index “EGX30” fell by 0.65% to 51,973 points, while the “EGX70” index rose by 0.59% to 14,387 points, and the “EGX100” index increased by 0.15% to reach 19,973 points.
