Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday closing

Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on Monday 23 February 2026, with an decrease in the sector’s market capitalization by 3.54%, reaching EGP 818.075 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 790.089 billion at the close of last Sunday’s session.

The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 25.38% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.

The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 826.69 million, representing 14.93% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 12.86 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 1.25% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session on a collective Increase in its indexes amid a trend of foreign investors toward net buying of EGP 258.8 million.

The main index EGX30 increased by 2.64% to 50.870 points, and EGX70 Increase by 2.13% to 12.693 points, and EGX100 increased by 2.34% to 17.816 points.
