Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday closing

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 15 December 2025 with an increase in the market cap by 0.76% to record EGP 676.46 bn compared to EGP 671.33 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.44% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 1.45 trn which represents 17.84% of the total trading volume today after 17.61 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.68% of the total trading volume.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s trading session with gains in the EGX30 and EGX100 indices, while the EGX70 index declined, amid a selling trend by foreign investors with net sales amounting to EGP 130.2 million.

The main index of the Egyptian Exchange, EGX30, rose by 0.57% to reach 42,624 points, while the EGX70 index for small- and mid-cap stocks declined by 0.03% to 13,091 points, and the broader EGX100 index increased by 0.03% to record 17,326 points.
