Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday
The banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on sunday , May 24, 2026, recording a increased in its market capitalization by 2.50%, reaching EGP 888.625 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to 866.914 the previous day’s closing.
The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.39% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.
Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 630.998 million, representing 9.12% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 8.453 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.45% of the overall trading volume of the market.
The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s trading session with a broad-based rise across its main indices. This came amid foreign investors’ tendency toward buying, recording a net purchase value of approximately EGP 258.8 million.
The main index “EGX30” increase by 1.48% to 52.861 points, while the “EGX70” index increased by 1.29% to 14.5841points, and the “EGX100” index increase by 1.25% to reach 20.388 points.
