Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday closing

Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on sunday 1 March 2026, with an decrease in the sector’s market capitalization by 2.21%, reaching EGP 775.74 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 793.26 billion at the close of last thursday’s session.
The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 25.22% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.
The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 682.4 million, representing 12.87% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 8.91 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.75% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.
The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session on a collective decline in its indexes amid a trend of foreign investors toward net buying of EGP 258.8 million.
The main index EGX30 decreased by 2.50% to 47.984 points, and EGX70 fell by 3.15% to 11.908 points, and EGX100 fell by 2.92% to 16.837 points.
