Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday
the banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on Sunday, July 12, 2026, recording a decrease in its market capitalization by 0.12%, reaching EGP 892.330 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to 893.39 the previous trading session's closing.
The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.35% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.
Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 313.697 million, representing 3.11% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 6.434 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.20% of the overall trading volume of the market.
The Egyptian Exchange closed at the end of today’s trading session with a decrease in the main index EGX30, while the EGX70 and EGX100 indices increased, while foreign investors tended toward buying, recording a net purchase value of approximately EGP 258.8 million.
The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 0.11% to close at 52.256 points, while the EGX70 index increased by 1.25% to 16.485 points, and the EGX100 index gained 0.90% to close at 22.266 points.
